In 1986, Solomon C. Luo, M.D., F.A.C.S, board-certified cataract and
refractive surgeon, opened PROGRESSIVE VISION INSTITUTE (PVI) as a single
practice in Pottsville. Today, 29 years later, Progressive Vision Institute
is comprised of 19 physicians and 9 offices located in Pottsville,
Shenandoah, Shamokin, Wyomissing, Allentown, Easton, Oaks, Philadelphia -
(Bustleton Avenue), and Philadelphia - (Lehigh Avenue).

PROGRESSIVE VISION INSTITUTE also has two accredited,
technologically-advanced surgery centers located in Pottsville and
Wyomissing with a new center soon to open in Allentown.

The physicians of PROGRESSIVE VISION INSTITUTE specialize in Cataract

PVI PHYSICIANS

Solomon C. Luo, M.D., F.A.C.S received his medical training at University of
Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his ophthalmology residency
at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Luo has
lectured both nationally and internationally on cataract surgery and
refractive surgery.

In 1989, Dr. Luo was one of the first physicians in the area to perform
surgery to correct nearsightedness. The development of the excimer laser has
revolutionized the correction of nearsightedness, astigmatism and
farsightedness, and now laser vision correction has become a main area of
concentration in his practice. He has performed thousands of laser vision
correction procedures.

In 1999, Dr. Luo opened the Progressive Surgical Institute at 201 E. Laurel
Blvd. in Pottsville. The Progressive Surgical Institute recently received
the certificate of excellence award from the Pennsylvania Healthcare Cost
Containment Council. This award was presented to the Institute for its
commitment to improving the quality and cost of healthcare throughout the
state of Pennsylvania.
