Krenik's Meat Processing Company Information

General information

Tucked away in the countryside between Montgomery and Shieldsville, down County Road 57, is a place where good things are made. That's where you'll find some of the best meat processing around.

Family tradition
Jim is no stranger to meat processing. His father and mother, Milo and Delores Krenik, moved their family to a farm near General Shield's Lake in 1960. There, they raised their own beef, pigs, chickens and other livestock. Milo set up a butcher shop and processed the meat for his family, friends and neighbors, establishing "Krenik's Meat Processing".

Jim took over the family business in 1987. By 1994 Krenik's Meat Processing was operational full time. At that time, Jim expanded his business to include custom butchering, venison and retail meats to the public.

Variety
Jim has a great variety of custom-cut, packed, and freezer-ready meat options, perfect for the large family or the individual. T-bones, sirloins, pork chops, ribs, and wieners are just a few items from the large selection of beef, pork, and poultry products. An enormous variety of products are available at Jim's shop, as well as custom-made freezer packs and catering. Anything you need to cook a delicious home made meal can be found at Krenik's Meat Processing. It's the perfect stop for graduations, weddings, family reunions, or any special occasion.

Custom Cuts
One of the things Jim specializes in is custom cuts of beef and pork for split sides, 1/4, 1/2 and whole beef processing. He will custom cut your beef to your specifications. Or, you can let Jim use a common cutting order that includes sirloin tips, chuck steaks, roasts, porterhouse steaks, sirloin steaks, and more.

Home raised
All of Krenik's beef are raised on the Krenik farm near his shop. Hormones are never used in the raising of the beef. He buys his pork from local pork producers around the area.

Award Winner
Jim has won awards for several of his homemade products.
This year, Jim received third place for his "Meaty Meals in Minutes" Greek Marinated Beef entry in the meat processor's convention.
Greek Marinated Beef is premarinated, vacuum packed and ready to cook for ease and freshness.
Jim also received 3rd place for his Roast Pork entry at the Minnesota Association of Meat Processors Convention in 2004 as well.
The Roast Pork is pre-cooked and is sold by the pound for small servings to quickly heat and eat and for large gatherings such as graduations, weddings or anniversaries to be easily heated in a roaster.
The Tri-State Conventions include entrants from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
In both contests, the categories were judged by appearance, flavor, creativity and ease of preparation.

Krenik's also makes traditional Czech ethnic foods, such as Jitrnice (Bohemian Sausage), Sekanina (Hash, Chopped Meat), Tlacenka (Head Cheese), Cooked, Home Made Potato Dumplings, and Pork & Sauerkraut. Krenik's pride themselves on old-fashioned, home made sausages, wieners and brats.
Krenik's meats can come frozen and vacuum packed for more convenience and safe handling than traditional paper wrapped products.
