Gathering Tribes

General information

We have been sharing the beauty of Native America from Alaska to Chile at Gathering Tribes since 1991. Our gallery store is located at 1412 Solano Avenue in Albany, California in the San Francisco East Bay. You will find jewelry, pottery, Zuni carvings, textiles, drums, flutes, crafts, fine art and prints among our offerings.

Michael Horse is the artist in residence and his ledger paintings and jewelry are available. He will sometimes be in the gallery working on a new ledger painting. Many people recognize him from his acting roles in television and feature length films, especially from his role as "Deputy Hawk" in the series "Twin Peaks".

We have one or two events almost every month during the year. You can find award-winning artists, jewelers and sculptors from out of the area who share their work and stories. We also host cultural and literary events. The most popular events of the year are our "Old & Newer Pawn Jewelry Show" with Art Quintana in December and June or July, and our "Evening of Native Women Poetry" on or around International Women's Day on March 8.
