Berry Pond Preserve

General information

Since its inception, LGLC’s land protection program has permanently protected more than 13,042 acres of Lake George wilderness and 49,517 feet of shoreline. Each piece of land has been protected for the benefit of all who enjoy swimming, boating and fishing in the crystal waters of Lake George, hiking and viewing the peaks and ridgelines of the Lake George mountains and forests, and drinking in the serenity of a cool, calm afternoon on the shores of Lake George. LGLC currently maintains nine preserves and properties that are open to the public with nearly 25 miles of trails for passive recreational use.

In addition to its land protection program, LGLC’s other key programs include: land stewardship, including the monitoring and management of preserves and other protected properties; and public outreach and communications, through which LGLC offers free public hikes and educational seminars on local natural history, recruits and manages volunteers, and develops interpretive materials for display and for public speaking opportunities.
