General information

Valliscor is a chemical manufacturing company that provides innovative solutions to access fluorinated building blocks and enantiomerically enriched scaffolds for the pharmaceutical, agricultural, polymer and electronics industries. Valliscor harnesses licensed technology from Oregon State University and from industrial partners to provide unique and cost-effective solutions for producing high value chemical entities.

Founded in 2012 by Rich G. Carter and Michael C. Standen, Valliscor exploits the synergy between industrial know-how and academic innovation to provide access to high-value organic building blocks for the pharmaceutical, biotech and agrochemical industries.

Additionally, this combined expertise can be harnessed as a Contract Research Organization (CRO) to provide custom synthesis services with expertise in continuous flow processes, asymmetric synthesis, unstable / reactive intermediates and fluorine incorporation. Valliscor is a privately held, limited liability corporation (LLC) based in Corvallis, Oregon.

We are located within the Microproducts Breakthrough Institute, which offers a modern, well-equipped facility with access to extensive instrumentation services. We are a member of the Oregon State University (OSU) Advantage Accelerator program and have been designated an OSU licensed spin-off company.

We offer a range of products and services to meet our customers’ needs:

Bromofluoroalkanes (BFAs) and Fluoroalkylated Building Blocks. We have proprietary technology for the preparation of a wide range of ultra pure Bromofluoroalkanes (BFAs). We also offer Fluoroalkylation Services which allows us to provide our customers with Fluoroalkylated Building Blocks. In this way, we can circumvent any regulatory issues for our customers surrounding the procurement and handling of BFAs, especially at large scale. • Valliscor now offers bromofluoromethane (BFM, CH2BrF, CAS number 373-52-4). Our product is provided in a high purity grade (>99.9%) suitable for fluticasone propionate manufacture. Please enquire at [email protected] for a sample of our product. We can provide samples and full order shipments in cylinders of your choice. As BFM is an ozone depleting substance (ODC), we manufacture and ship BFM in strict compliance with global environmental regulations.

• BFM can also be used for introduction of a fluoromethyl (R-CH2F) group. In order to provide additional value and service to our customers, we can synthesize your fluoromethylated targets in-house. This option allows our customers to avoid the regulatory issues normally encountered with sourcing ODC's.

Custom Synthesis. With many years of experience with complex multi step organic and natural product synthesis, we offer our customers custom synthesis services based on either FTE or flat fee arrangements. We offer some unique tools as part of our technology offering:

• Range of proprietary proline sulfonamide organocatalysts for highly efficient and rapid access to complex molecular architectures.
• Continuous flow synthesis using microreactor / static mixer configurations.
• In house access to highly specialized and unique fluorinated building blocks.

In support of these activities we also offer services which include retrosynthetic analysis, route design, selection and optimization.

Process Research and Development. With over 25 years of process development experience, we can take your preliminary lab protocol and develop it into a robust and scalable process suitable for operation in a pilot plant. Using a “quality by design approach” combined with state of the art lab and analytical facilities we will provide our customers with the most cost effective, safe and environmentally compliant process possible. We will also incorporate continuous flow options where appropriate in order to underpin the overall process performance and quality.

Process safety is a major consideration and we are committed to ensuring that all work carried out is done so with a full safety evaluation.
