So Fine Mi-Kis

Thanks for your interest in our beautiful rare breed toy Mi-Ki puppies. I am a director on the board of the American Mi-Ki Club and have a sincere interest in seeing that this breed is continues and is bred and raised in a healthy, ethical manner.

We show Mi-Kis and breed only to produce that special show quality puppy. I evaluate each litter to see if I have produced a pup that I feel would be a good candidate for the show ring. It is very expensive to breed, when it is done right. We are interested in producing the healthiest Mi-Ki possible. Therefore, we drive to Detroit, MI (3 1/2 hours away) to have our breedable dogs' hearts checked by a canine cardiologist. We have their eyes examined by a canine ophthalmologist in Chicago. We also have our local veterinarian do blood panels to check for abnormalities that could indicate other unseen problems or diseases.

Mi-Kis are considered a rare breed and not yet recognized by AKC. Therefore it is important that the puppy you purchase, as well as both of the pups parents, be registered with a Mi-Ki ONLY registry. APRI, All Pet Registry Inc. and NCA, National Canine Association are not Mi-Ki only registries. They would register a hamster. They know nothing about the MiKi breed or Mi-Ki pedigrees. A breeder sends them money and tells them what to put on the pedigree and so it is. They don't require proof of any sort whereas all but one Mi-Ki only registry requires proof of parentage through DNA before they will register a MiKi dog or puppy.

We DNA all of our puppies to prove that the parents are who we say they are. We also have proof that the parents are registered with Mi-Ki ONLY registries. If the puppy and the parents are not registered with a Mi-Ki ONLY registry, you cannot be sure that you are getting a true Mi-Ki.

We have just two breedable girls. We breed them once a year and no more than three times in their lifetime. There's a real interest in buying from a reputable breeder who does goes the extra mile to ensure they are breeding healthy Mi-Kis. Therefore we rarely have puppies available.
