CountryFireplacesND is located at Thompson, ND just 10 miles south of Grand Forks, ND. Started in 2001 as CornburnersND selling corn burning stoves. In 2003 we became a dealer for St Croix stoves which we felt was a giant step up in quality and dependability. The next few years were a roller coaster ride with fuel prices shooting up one year and dropping dramatically the next. We have seen many corn stove manufacturers come and go as companies rushed to get on the bandwagon and soon fell off. We have seen the tremendous loyalty that St Croix has built up over the years as it has become THE corn stove to buy. Quality needs no excuses. Now with corn prices up dramatically most people have switched to wood pellets as their main fuel. With the St Croix stoves you already have a multi-fuel stove all you need is to replace the burn pot with updated version to burn pellets or corn. Cost is around $70 and installation takes about 5 minutes. With the new firepot there is the added benefit of being able to easily switch from pellets back to corn. I have found that pellet quality differs greatly from one supplier to another. I have bought pellets one week with one brand found they did not burn very well, the next week with a different brand they burned will. I would caution you before you buy a pellet load of pellets that you try a bag to see how it burns. Please email or call me with any questions.
