General information

My name is Troy Shields and i founded Troy Marine in October of 1998 with the principle of offering good quality products and service at a fair price.
As a small child boating was just as natural part of life as much as breathing. My mother was carrying my brothers and I while she was actively boating with my father .
Growing up with boats learning how to care for them,fishing and playing on boats with the Elizabeth River and Chesapeake Bay being my playground has created my passion for this lifestyle.
My parents and grandparents taught me early in life that nothing is worth doing unless you do it with Integrity and Passion for whatever in life you do.
In my family I am 4 generation envolved in the boating business as many of my relatives were commercial waterman,boat biulders and avid boating finatics.
Thus the reason For Troy Marine's existance as i worked my way up from boatyard laborer at 16,to a mechanic,fiberglass and woodworker,boat biulder to doing sales then general manager and at 38 a owner.All of this for the love of the boating lifestyle as many other things in life would have been easier if it were all about the money.
Riding on my first power catamaran in 1992 with four stroke outboards and then being the first Bermuda Challenge winner running a 26 ft Glacier Bay with four stroke outboards on the wildest but craziest seas to ever experience having made me a firm believer in Power Catamarans. There are seas you will venture into with safety and comfort that you would never go out into with a conventional monohull unless it is a much larger monohull compared to the size of a catamaran.
We only offer new power catamarans and have more experience than any other dealer in the United States with all types of power catamarans rigged with Yamaha four stroke outboards. We perform many refurbishments of older catamarans.
Most catamaran owners are very experienced boaters that have owned many other well biult conventional boats and have gone to gone to a catamaran for the reasons we choose to offer this type of boat.
