General information

Beansprout Academy of Fort Mill is designed to equip each child in developing their cognitive, social/emotional, physical, and language skills through play that encourages and notices individual interests. By promoting independence and developing an emerging awareness of social behavior, we help young learners expand their world beyond the home setting to the school community.

Research based and child focused, the Beansprout Academy curriculum uses a carefully designed process of learning through discovery, called active participatory learning. During active learning, caretakers encourage children to discover the world around them by exploring and playing. Learning and development are anchored by long-term, trusting relationships with caregivers, who are close at hand to support children as they play.

At Beansprout Academy of Fort Mill programs are guided by the principle of developmentally appropriate practice. Our staff embraces the view that each child is a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.

Our center offers a “hands on” approach to learning. This style of early learning education is designed to foster creativity and expand self-expression. Beansprout Academy teachers manifest their respect for children by encouraging them to think for themselves, make decisions, work toward their own solutions, and express their own ideas and feelings.

Beansprout Academy embraces the belief that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. Parents are encouraged to involve themselves and their families in a variety of center activities, including birthday and holiday celebrations, parent evenings out, and social activities. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to visit the classrooms at all times.

Spanish class will be taught to our toddler, twos, Pre-K, and TK rooms every day! Learning a second language not only provides the benefits of being more competitive in a global economy, but research shows that learning Spanish also improves reading, vocabulary and comprehension in English. In addition, learning Spanish has been shown to improve math abilities. Learning a second language is amazingly stimulating for the brain and may help a child’s development in many areas. Children have a window of opportunity to become familiar with Spanish before they realize they are learning a new language. If you can develop a foundation and familiarity in Spanish at a young age (before 6 or 7), children can rapidly accelerate their knowledge of Spanish in later years.
