The Anser Decoy Co, LLC. was formed by two individuals with very different skill sets with one strong commitment in common. Retired Army Combat Arms Officers, Chuck Elder and Jim Orr served together as Staff Officers in an Infantry Battalion and developed a keen working relationship writing operations orders for the Battalion Commander. As they put it, “we could finish each other’s sentences.” Throughout the service years in the Pa Army National Guard, Chuck was building an outfitting company, James Creek Outfitters and was focused on Snow Goose hunting. After buying, selling and trading thousands of decoys over the years, Chuck remained unsatisfied with what he was putting in the field. In early 2011 a new windsock decoy design began to take shape in his mind.

Jim was soon to retire from military service and became involved with the enterprise. With experience in real estate investment and his ownership of Oakridge Center, the companies’ shipping and warehousing facility, Jim brought a sharp business and logistics sense to the team while Chuck continued with product design and marketing aspects. It was evident early on in the business development that there was too much red, white and blue in the partners’ blood to even consider producing the product line off-shore. They were told it couldn’t be done in the USA. They didn’t listen.

The Anser Decoy Company brings to the market the highest quality windsock line of decoys on the market with many user friendly and goose appealing features. The signature decoy available in the product line is the Patent Pending “SideKick Decoy®” – the only windsock available on the market that rides perpendicular to the wind direction. The company will also be donating a portion of every sale to K9s for Warriors which in turn will save dogs’ lives and give our returning service members the service dogs they so desperately need.

Even though Jim and Chuck have retired from military service, their mission continues. The Anser Decoy Company exists to bring you a top quality windsock style decoy made in the USA and give back something to those who fight for the freedom that allow us to live in a country where we can enjoy our days in the field.
