General information

The Playhouse at McConnellstown PA has been producing plays, musicals and concerts for 33 years. It has become a home base for many talented performers and artists some just passing through, more who call Central Pennsylvania home.

We have presented more than 180 separate productions in our fine old theatre, 1,400 performances, 4,500 rehearsals, 300,000 volunteer hours spent working, and—the most mind-boggling—a conservative estimate of 80,000 audience members—that’s YOU—coming through our doors to watch a show.

No matter their origins, the Company has satisfied play-goers from throughout the northeast. We seat only 77 souls, but as our fans will attest: size does not matter. So join us this season, and see why we’ve built a loyal audience that has come to expect a thrilling theatre experience.

We are located at 11680 Raystown Road, State Route 26, on the south end of rural McConnellstown, Pennsylvania, five miles south of Huntingdon and thirty-five miles from State College. We can be reached from points west (Altoona and Hollidaysburg) and east (Lewistown) by taking US Route 22 to the intersection with Route 26, near Huntingdon.

On Stage Next – “Belles”

BELLES: a play in two acts and forty-five phone calls

The Walker sisters, born and raised in Memphis, now live in six different US cities and communicate solely by phone. The eldest, Peggy, who remained with Mama in Tennessee, calls her siblings when their mother is hospitalized – nothing serious, she just ate some bad tuna – but the phone calls lead to often comedic and sometimes brutal confrontations about the past and the present.
