Plant science students learn how to improve the sustainability of agricultural systems, use weather data and biology for insect and disease forecasting, design and construct landscape spaces, and create turfgrass surfaces that increase athlete safety and performance.

The Plant Sciences major is designed for students seeking careers in agronomic and horticultural crop production systems and enterprise management, agroecology, crop protection, applied plant physiology, plant science research, and plant biotechnology.

The Landscape Contracting major is known as one of the top programs of its kind in the country. Students in this major can combine an emphasis on the science of plants with creative design and planning.
