General information
The DOHERTY Law Firm history dates back to 1986, when Thomas L. Doherty began a private general civil practice in DeKalb, Illinois, with a focus on real estate transactions. The practice expanded in 2004 when Mark P. Doherty moved from a small law firm in Naperville, Illinois, where he practiced primarly in the areas of condominium and homeowner association representation and civil litigation, to join his father. Shortly thereafter, the Firm added an office in St. Charles, Illinois, to greater serve the needs of its clients and to provide informed and experienced legal services in a greater geographical area.
In 2010, Tom Doherty was elected a Circuit Judge for DeKalb County and at that time he left the Firm to take a seat on the bench, where he continues to serve the legal community in this new capacity. Mark Doherty continues to own and operate the Firm and its offices. Mark works closely with legal assistants, Kara Near and Stephanie Christensen, and administrative assistant, Shannon Gallagher.
The DOHERTY Law Firm continues its tradition of providing legal services, with a focus on residential and commercial real estate and transactional matters; civil litigation; land use and development; business formation and representation; bank and lending institutions representation; landlord-tenant law; estate planning, trust law, and probate matters; and condominium homeowners association law. The Firm prides itself on its ability to grow with our community and the needs of our clients while remaining focused on the numerous legal issues that our clients face on a daily basis. To do so, we utilize seasoned attorneys, a highly trained and experienced staff, an automated case management system, and state of the art online and print legal research resources and libraries.
The DOHERTY Law Firm serves a wide variety of clients in DeKalb, Kane, DuPage and surrounding counties.
