General information
At the Teen Kitchen Project we believe that food is the very foundation of health and healing and our mission is to encourage individuals and our community to nourish themselves with nutritious whole foods. We bring teenagers into the kitchen to learn about cooking and eating healthy foods. The teens, mentored by chefs and nutritionists, prepare meals for families in our community who are dealing with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer. We provide up to three months of meals free of charge to Santa Cruz County community members in need.
Volunteers run our program, and our work is entirely dependent on the donations we receive from caring, community-minded donors. The Teen Kitchen Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our fiscal sponsor is The Boomerang Foundation/ I Spot Compassion. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
