First Choice Refinishers Serving Eastern NC Since 1995 Randy...the tub guy Bathtub and Tile Refinishing Bathtub & Tile Surround Before Reglazing Bathtub & Tile Surround After Reglazing Bathtub and tile refinishing is an affordable alternative to replacing old tubs with new ones. Remodeling a bathroom just to update outdated designer colors or replace a worn bathtub can cost thousands of dollars, up to 5-figures. Reglazing or refinishing them can be accomplished for a fraction of that amount and still get the desired affect of changing the color and getting back the shine and ease of cleaning that tired, worn out bathtub. Serving eastern North Carolina since 1995, the name First Choice Refinishers and Randy Yanagawa have become somewhat synonymous. I am located in Dudley (between Mt. Olive and Goldsboro), Wayne County, North Carolina. Most of my customers would probably not recognize the name First Choice Refinishers and know me as "Randy...the tub guy"! (Of course, with a last name like Yanagawa, who can blame them.) I am one of the few factory-trained, tub and tile refinishing technicians in the area with 20+ years of experience. (The industry refers to it as "reglazing", and while technically, reglazing involves the baking on of the finish, the refinishing process involves the application of an epoxy-type finish that does not involve heat curing.) Service Area My normal service area is anywhere within an hour from Goldsboro. I regularly do work in Princeton, Kinston, La Grange, New Bern, Snow Hill, Fremont, Pikeville, Wilson, Mount Olive, Kenansville, Pink Hill, Faison and everywhere in between. More and more, I have been doing work in the Atlantic Beach, Morehead City, and Beaufort area. I have done work as far away as Cashiers, Greensboro, High Point, Raleigh, Durham, Wilmington, Jacksonville, Surf City, Topsail, and Rocky Mount. Typically, I will travel up to 2-hours away and charge a nominal travel fee of just $50, if more than an hour away. The majority of my work is residential bathtubs and showers. I have refinished complete bathrooms where the bathtub, tile surround and bathroom ceramic tile walls were changed from those decorator colors of the 60's/70's, usually to plain old white. And I have also refinished tile and formica counter tops and vanities, and even tile floors as well. While I do not usually suggest refinishing kitchen sinks due to the presence of knives and forks, pots, pans, and such, there are exceptions. Those old country sinks that included either single or double wash board wings, which cannot be replaced, are candidates for refinishing. I have done several of them, but always warn my customers that I cannot guarantee that they will hold up if they are not careful about those utensils mentioned above. I am very happy to say that over 80% of my work comes from word-of-mouth referrals and from repeat business from my regular customers; i.e. property management companies, investors, and government housing.
