General information
Musgrave Pencil Company was founded in rural Middle Tennessee in 1916 by Mr. J. R. Musgrave. The Company produced Pencil Slats made from Tennessee Red Cedar and shipped them to pencil manufacturers in Europe. Mr. Musgrave soon realized it would be beneficial if he could produce his own pencils and in 1922 – 23 purchased pencil production machines from pencil factories in Europe. His dream came true and in late 1923 pencil production along with his current pencil slat production came to fruition. Since that time Musgrave Pencil Company has come to be a leader in many types of school, office, specialty imprints and designer pencils.
