After returning to Slidell after serving four years in the Navy, Tim Purvis was making money detailing cars. One day, he was working on a car at Magee Finance in Slidell when he found a roll of silver dollars under the seat. When he returned the roll of silver dollars to the owner of the car, the owner was so impressed that Purvis didn't pocket the money, that he offered him a job. That's how Purvis got started in the finance business.
Tim Purvis went on to become assistant manager, then manager at different finance companies before opening Purvis Financial, Inc. in 2002.
