James Storehouse Louisiana, Inc. Company Information
General information
HISTORY:
James Storehouse was founded by Louisiana native, Kim Winston Bigler. This dynamic, caring mom first learned about the shocking realities of foster care when she received an email at Christmas time in 2011. The email described a foster child, who had spent her whole life in foster care, bouncing from family to family until she turned 18. She aged out of the system only to find herself on her own, in a cold apartment at Christmas time. This youth reached out to the community for a simple heater. The experience awakened in Kim both a profound sense of empathy for children in foster care and the challenges they face, along with a heartfelt desire to support them.
MISSION:
From cribs to college, James Storehouse supports children in foster care and those aging out of foster care by providing resources that will ease transitions and improve living conditions. We encourage awareness and motivate community participation in support of children in foster care. We currently support kids in Los Angeles and Ventura County located in California and a variety of parishes in Southern Louisiana.
