We provide specialist, complex, emergency and planned care and treatment for people across the region. We have a number of regional services - such as providing renal (kidney) transplants. We provide the largest number of cancer services in Merseyside and Cheshire - many regionally, and we are a national centre for eye cancer. We have one of the busiest Emergency Departments in England and form part of the Merseyside and Cheshire Major Trauma Collaborative. We are a university hospital, with strong links to the University of Liverpool, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Liverpool John Moores University.
